Defying Gravity

This was not what Gansey had expected while returning to his quarters after his most recent bout of insomnia and exploration. After the initial disorientation that left him slightly ill, he began pulling himself along the hallway, using whatever object he could find to help control his movements.

He stopped beside one of the passengers, when she spoke quickly averting his gaze as she attempted to wrap her robe more securely. His expression slid from embarrassment to neutral politeness as Gansey reminded himself that he hadn't done anything improper considering the situation.

Embarrassment was quickly replaced by excitement when he realized what the captain had said. "You did. I'm not certain how we're going to the 1800s, but we are." Before he can say more, the ship comes out of warp and he clung to sconce next to her, trying to anticipate how best to deal with the impact. When it happens, he bounces more than falls, shaking off the sensation and dropping to the floor. Looking up at her, he offers her a hand. "Are you all right?"
