It's a big galaxy out there and Peter has seen everything. He already had the freak out of his life when he was eight, those were some hard first years adapting to living in space and surrounded by criminals but he survived. Nothing at this point will bother him much, especially not a nice looking guy who just happens to have really wide shoulders. Thanos was bigger and meaner.

"A pleasure, Luther. That's an earth's name." And it gets Peter's interest immediately. Xandarians and Humans aren't that different in appearance but when it comes to culture, they're nothing alike and 'Luther' is too much of a 'Terran' name for them to use. "I like all kinds but especially music from the 70s and 80s. Blue Swede, Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye...Good things never get old."
